Local Sanitization & Anesthesia
Before the procedure begins, the fat removal area(s) will be thoroughly cleaned, and the necessary instruments, including cannulas, will be prepped. The procedure is performed in-office under local numbing anesthesia and laughing gas, ensuring the patient is very comfortable. Many patients find the process so relaxing that they often fall asleep while remaining safely monitored.
Diode Laser Liquefying & Collecting
To prepare for the application of the laser, very small 3-4mm incisions will be made. The size of the incisions will also depend on the amount of fat being removed and the cannula size(s) your provider selects. A very fine laser is then used to heat and liquefy the targeted fat cells. Our Mercedes cannula enables a multi-step process: while the laser heats the fat cells, the cannula simultaneously suctions the fat for collection.
Purification of Viable Fat Cells
The provider will then take the collected fat cells and place them into a centrifuge or filtering process to separate the fat from blood, fluids, and impurities. Once purified, the remaining viable fat cells are placed into syringes to prepare them for re-injection.
