Chemical Peels

Chemical peels are rapidly becoming one of the most popular methods for achieving smooth skin and reducing the appearance of fine lines among women in their 30s through 60s. Chemical peels are non-invasive facial treatments designed to even out skin tone, correct dark spots, treat acne, and leave skin feeling (and looking) younger, smoother, and fuller than ever.

What Are Chemical Peels?

Chemical peels are skin treatments that use solutions like glycolic acid to chemically exfoliate the skin. The application of such solutions helps remove dead skin and reveal new layers of fresh, healthy skin.  While many exfoliating products on the market require scrubbing with “rough” agents like sugar or crushed almonds, chemical peels are performed in the comfort of a certified med spa or clinic, under the care of skilled, board-certified healthcare providers.

How Do Chemical Peels Work?

Chemical peels work by penetrating past the superficial layers of the skin to expedite the body’s natural skin cell death and regeneration process. Compounds found in chemical peel products are safe for skin of all types and are naturally found in your body. Often referred to as “chemexfoliation,” this treatment uses chemical compounds to exfoliate the skin more evenly and effectively than traditional mechanical or physical exfoliators. Because the solution is applied in a uniform layer, chemical peels reduce the risk of missed spots and provide consistent, safer results compared to abrasive exfoliation methods.

What Areas Can Be Treated?

Chemical peels are most commonly applied to the face, however, they can be beneficial and applied to nearly all areas of the body including the back, arms, and legs. Applied in different concentrations based on your skin’s needs, chemical peels penetrate different layers to address your problem areas at superficial, medium, or deep levels.

What Are the Benefits?

Smoother, younger-looking skin is just the beginning.

Healing Blemishes

Chemical peels help with clearing acne by penetrating below the skin’s surface to remove excess dirt and oil from the pores.

Reducing Fine Lines

Peels reduce the appearance of fine lines by removing the outermost layer of skin and, when performed consistently, leave your skin looking younger and smoother.

Sun Damage Reversal

Chemical peels reverse the effects of sun damage by penetrating beneath the skin’s surface, promoting the growth of new, undamaged skin.

Collagen Production

Deep chemical peels encourage the production of collagen by causing “controlled damage” which triggers your body’s natural healing response to generate new collagen fibers.

Treats Skin Hyperpigmentation

Most chemical peels specifically target the melanin clusters in your skin that cause hyperpigmentation breaking them down and evening your skin tone.

Boosting Confidence

The best benefit is achieving skin confidence.

Chemical peels are a safer alternative to other forms of exfoliation and offer more benefits than the average scrub. They treat beyond the top layer of the skin and work to solve problems, not just temporarily treat them.
